The Phrase
Phrase: In a bain-marie Meaning: That is, in a double pan. Or in other words, you put water into a container, then you place a smaller container with the food to cook into the bigger one. The water is heated, and the food is cooked or heated.
Examples:
I made the cream of tomato soup in a bain-marie.
Now put it in a bain-marie.
